James Montgomery IDTA (LF. LSD. S.Dip. AL) ISTD (AL) |
Principal & Director
I started dancing at the age of 10 and have never looked back. Now, 16 years later and I’m still in love with dance, it is, without a doubt, my passion. I really do “Live to Dance, Dance to Live”.
For 6 years now I have been teaching children and adults all sorts of dancing for fun, exercise and the wonderful social aspect. I enjoy teaching Latin American, Ballroom, Salsa, Street Dance, Freestyle/Disco, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Cheerleading and Linedancing.
For the 4 years that I taught the Formation Team at Angela’s School Of Dancing I enjoyed the challenge of chereographing such a large, telented group, taking them onto performances in London’s West End at Her Majesty’s Theatre. After great interest I have been asked to re-form the Formation Team in January 2009 to perform at various venues around the UK, a wonderful opportunity for both me and the dancers.
I am a professional member of both the Imperial Society for Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA). I have the pleasure of teaching dancing 7 days a week, both privately and in classes. I also hold A-Levels in Dance and Performing Arts and teaching qualifications in Freestlye (Associate Level, 90%) Latin American (Associate Level), Salsa Teacher's Diploma (Associate Level Equivellant, 95%), Freestyle (Licentiate Level, 97%) and most recently received my Licentiate Level (98%) in Street Dance, 11th October 2009.
I look forward to passing on my passion and love for dance to our students and watching them shine, be it in their exams, shows or classes.

Instructor
I have been a member of the I.D.T.A. since 2004 when I qualified as a Professional Freestyle Instructor.
My dancing career started many years earlier as a young girl, crying her way through Ballet, Disco/Freestyle, Tap and Modern classes every Saturday. It wasn't too long however before I started to enjoy my dancing and the costumes, including glitter, that went with it.
Over the years I have danced in many formats including; Competitions, IDTA Examinations (Achieving Blue Ribands in the majority), Fetes, Dance Festivals, other performances at Schools and Charity Events.
I also took A-Level Dance which encompassed many different skills and styles such as; Contemporary Technique, Break Dance infused with Ballet, Street Jazz, Classical Indian Temple Dance (Bharata Natyam) and more.
I hope to share the enjoyment and sense of achievement you can get from dancing with anyone who is willing to learn.

Teaching Assistant
I first started dancing at the age of 9 after being encouraged to go along to a Saturday morning Latin American and Ballroom class by a friends Mum. It was not long before it became a passion of mine and I was dancing four or five times a week.
As a young girl and teenager I have taken exams with the IDTA and have entered competitions both as part of a couple and with formation teams in Latin American and Ballroom. These compettions took me all over the UK, to Europe and America. After a break due to work commitments and bringing up a family I have been back dancing with SimplyDance for 3 years now and my passion for dancing has returned.
Whilst taking examinations both as Man and Lady, I am also studying with SimplyDance for my Latin American Teachers Qualification. SimplyDance is such a fun and friendly environment to learn and to dance.
I enjoy helping teach people to dance and hope to pass on my enthusiasm to them.

I first started to take dance lessons when
I was very young, taking part in Tap, Ballet, Modern and Latin, but unfortunately
had to stop, which broke my heart as little girl who was very much in love
with dancing.
In early 2008 I started coming to SimplyDance
to take part in Latin/ Ballroom classes and also private lessons and very
quickly fell in love with it. I have just taken my first exams, and
cannot wait to take more. I thoroughly enjoy helping with all the
classes, it is great fun and is really helping me learn and progress in
my own dancing.
I really am enjoying all of the lessons that
SimplyDance offer, from Freestyle, Cheerleading, Ballroom, Street, I am
loving it all, and honestly would do it every day if I could.
I am also a qualified hairdresser and nursery
nurse, but dancing is defiantly my favorite thing to do.
I am so happy to be helping with the SimplyDance
classes and can't wait for the next step in my dancing and would love to
continue on to taking teacher's examinations in the future also.
